From a large Missouri farm to San Francisco in 1965, and to Santa Cruz in 1969, I attended Cabrillo College and UCSC for 3 years before taking up the real estate profession at Thunderbird Real Estate 25 years ago. In 1989, myself and three other agents bought Thunderbird Real Estate and since then have made Thunderbird Real Estate one of the top producing offices in Santa Cruz County. Thunderbird Real Estate was founded about 35 years ago specializing in ranches and rural properties. Being raised on a large farm, I was attracted to this part of real estate and over the years have earned the nick name "the land man". My specialties include timber land, small and large ranches (in 1997 sold the 2,300 acre Grey Whale Ranch), low end to high end estate homes sites, and homes on acreage. Over the 25 years in specializing in rural properties and unimproved land, the County of Santa Cruz has made building your dream home or ranch a very complicated process for the inexperienced buyer. Some of the challenges that I am there to help buyers and sellers through can include the drilling and testing of wells, geological and soils reports, septic inspections and perc test, shared well and road maintenance agreements, surveryors, zoning and planning issues and many others. Because of Thunderbird and my willingness to take on these challenges in representing buyers and sellers in these kind of properties, Thunderbird over the past four years is involved in approximately 23% of all land transactions in the County.
